A 15mi round trip hike with 5000ft elevation gain. Long's peak is the highest peak in Rocky Mountain National Parkat 14,255 ft.
Mom and I got a late start, but the weather held. The hike starts out a moderate grade, but near the top of the peak it requires some effort.
After you cross over to the backside of the peak it all rocky goodness, an absolute lung burning treat.
The way back just seemed to take forever due to the distance. All in all it was fun, but long at 12 hrs between locking and unlocking the car.
